Mike Vellucci Interview Main Points

Plymouth Whalers President/ General Manager and Head Coach Mike Vellucci joined Corey Hagood Tuesday on WXOU Live here are some of his main points:

-New Rules will make it more exicting especially in some of the traditional Borning Games such as an NHL game between Detroit and Nashville. or Columbus

- Greg Stefan will still be around even with the Promotion to the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes. They like to Promote from within as well as a whole.

- Ryan Nie played to much last year but it was Vellucci's job to get the team to win the division and Justin Garay just did not come through when they needed him to so Nie had to play, Vellucci always made sure Nie was good to play and Nie said yea he was.

- For the near Future the 4 OA's will be on the roster, no timeline or timeframe for a decision as to who goes at this point. (One eventually will have to go)

- There may be a time when he dresses all his 3 skating OA's and Ryan Nie is scratched.

- They have the talent so score goals it won't be with just one player like John Mitchell but divied between the forwards.

- Andrew Fournier has progressed well after the horrible injury and was a good leader while injured and is one now still.

- John Armstrong should take a step up this season. Jared Boll will contribute.

-Ryan Lee even though he is a smaller player he will get banged up but his kenn seems to be fine for now.

- no decision on where the C's and A's will go as of yet the Players will vote and the coaching staff will have a vote as well.

- Import Draft pick Ondrej Otcenas should contribute as well.

- The Team loved the support it got and needs it to continue.

- With a young team you never know what will happen and they have a young team.

- A few years ago only the athletes would go to these type of things (Pep Rally) the turn out was great.
