As Oakland University Hockey Head Coach Sean Hogan stated first on WXOU's "The OU Hockey Show" indeed Will McMahon will make his pro debut tonight: Press Release Below from Oakland Hockey
"Oakland University star forward Will McMahon will make his professional hockey debut tonight for the Quad City Mallards as they take on the Muskegon Fury in Muskegon, MI at 6:30 pm.
"This is an outstanding opportunity for Will, he deserves every bit of it and I as well as the staff and players are very excited," stated Head Coach Sean Hogan.
"I look forward to the chance to play at the next level, and I am very excited about this opportunity not only for me, but for the Oakland Hockey team as well as the ACHA community," commented McMahon.
McMahon is the third Oakland Hockey player in two years to get a chance at the next level. Ryan Webb played a short stint at OU before moving on to the UHL and eventually the ECHL and SPHL. Five year OU forward Dan Oleksy finshed last season with Port Huron of the UHL.
"It goes to show that we have a great organization here with quality student athletes, staff and volunteers. There are deserving players here that should get a chance at the next level," stated Assistant Coach JR Dunn."
